Ahead of the summer transfer window, Bayern Munich board member for sport Max Eberl has confirmed to Bild that the German champions “will sign an attacking player if he can be financed.”
When asked whether the player in question – most likely Newcastle United’s Anthony Gordon – wants to join Bayern, Eberl replied:
“We had a very good conversation and we hope that we can make progress.”
Gordon has widely been reported as Bayern Munich’s top transfer target for the summer, with reports suggesting that there is already an agreement in principle with the player’s camp.
However, in order to complete the deal, Bayern still need to reach an agreement with Newcastle over a transfer fee.
