Ex-NFL CB Lamar Jackson lands on UFL’s injured reserve list

Lamar Jackson (not that one) is headed to injured reserve.

Jackson (the 28-year-old cornerback, not to be confused with the 29-year-old quarterback) was placed on IR by the Orlando Storm of the United Football League last week. He was originally picked by the Storm in the 2026 UFL draft in January, totaling two tackles and one pass breakup through three games before landing on IR.

Jackson played college football at Nebraska, and he spent time with six NFL teams from 2020-2024, including a stint with the Denver Broncos in 2022. Jackson appeared in three games with the Broncos that season, recording three tackles and two PBUs.

Jackson is one of six former Broncos cornerbacks who suited up in the UFL this spring, joining Michael Ojemudia (St. Louis Battlehawks), Kary Vincent (Houston Gamblers), Quinton Newsome (Houston Gamblers), Micah Abraham (Orlando Storm) and Mario Goodrich (Birmingham Stallions).

Ojemudia was picked by Denver in the third round of the 2020 NFL draft. Vincent was a seventh-round pick in 2021. UFL clubs are entering Week 5 of a 10-week regular season.
