Former Ohio State star made a big impact for Notre Dame freshman

Notre Dame football has used its power to recruit multiple sons of former players, both legacy’s and not, and recently Larry Fitzgerald spoke about the impact that a former star Ohio State wide receiver had on his son Devin.

The soon-to-be Hall of Famer recently spoke about the connection on the “in the Bayou” podcast with Tyrann Mathieu, that current Arizona Cardinal Marvin Harrison Jr. has with Devin, as the two met and immediately sparked a relationship.

Harrison was unaware of who he was speaking to, which made the interaction more genuine, as towards the end of their chat Devin finally told him who his father was. Larry is one of the all-time great Cardinals, and due to his kindness, the Fitzgerald family will always be rooting for him.

As for Devin, while his father was one of the best receivers of his generation, anytime you get to sit down with a current players and pick their brains is always a good idea. Hopefully he took more than a relationship away from the conversation and can use that during his time in South Bend. After the younger Fitzgerald’s showing during the spring game, it very much looks like that was the case.
