We are counting down the days until the start of the 2026 Kentucky Wildcats football season, and there are now 94 days to go. Along with the countdown, we’re looking at the players who make up this year’s squad. No. 94 is defensive lineman Tavion Gadson.
Gadson came to Kentucky as a part of their 2023 recruiting class under Mark Stoops. He was a three-star member of the class, and ranked as the No. 596 player overall. He had originally committed to Florida State, but ultimately flipped to the Wildcats.
As a freshman, Gadson would play in four games before redshirting. Then, an injury all but wiped out his 2024 season. He finally got his chance last year, and started to show the promise he had as a recruit. He played in 11 games, and was credited with 28 tackles, 4 tackles for a loss, and 2.5 sacks.
The coaching staff is counting on even more in 2026. He’s likely the starter at defensive tackle, and the 6’5″, 305 lb junior has the potential to be a difference maker. He stuck around through the coaching change, and brings some pass rush juice to the defensive interior. Fans will want to pay attention when he’s on the field.
