With the Jacksonville Jaguars’ 2026 roster now largely set following the NFL draft, where does this team now land in the latest power rankings?
The general consensus, from both draft analysts and a few NFL execs, is that the Jaguars’ 2026 draft class underwhelmed.
It was also a very quiet free agency period for Jacksonville, in terms of additions made, with the only outside signing being running back Chris Rodriguez, with GM James Gladstone very mindful of the 2027 compensatory picks the Jaguars are projected to receive.
The Jaguars also saw Devin Lloyd, Travis Etienne, Greg Newsome, and Andrew Wingard sign elsewhere.
The lack of additions paired with these absences likely played a key factor in where the Jaguars now stand in these power rankings. But not to be forgotten about is that oftentimes we see teams make leaps in Year 2 of new offensive and defensive systems.
Rather than implementing the new schemes this offseason, the Jaguars are able to build upon what was established in 2025, and that can be a catalyst for improved play — we just can’t point to it on a roster or on the stat sheet during the offseason.
NFL.com: 14th (down 2 spots)
Eric Edholm: “I’ll be honest: I didn’t love the Jaguars’ haul. I don’t know too many folks who did. It felt like a team that didn’t care for the draft class as a whole, felt pretty good about the roster in general and decided to take players it liked, with little regard to value. That’s fine and good, as long as the approach works. We’ll see.”
CBS Sports: 5th (same as pre-draft ranking)
Pete Prisco: “Their draft was perplexing to some, but tight end Nate Boerkircher will be a good player. The biggest move this year: Getting Travis Hunter back healthy to start at corner.”
FOX Sports: 11th (down 2 spots)
Ralph Vacchiano: “They didn’t have a first-round pick and reached for a blocking tight end who caught just 36 passes in five years in college (Texas A&M’s Nate Boerkircher). They’ve got a lot of holes, and their offseason overall hasn’t been good.”
Bleacher Report: 10th
Brent Sobleski: “Aside from Travis Hunter coming back healthy, the Jacksonville Jaguars aren’t necessarily better now than they were at the end of the regular season. Jacksonville did add a rather large draft class with 10 incoming rookies, though that group can be considered scattershot based on how erratically the Jags selected.”
Pro Football Network: 16th
PFN: “According to GM James Gladstone, the Jacksonville Jaguars have been dormant in free agency to play the compensatory-pick game in the 2027 NFL Draft. That could help them in the long run, but it leaves them with some big shoes to fill in the short term. The Jaguars strayed far away from the national consensus with their draft haul. Aside from Emmanuel Pregnon in the third round, their other three top-100 selections came in much higher than where most draft analysts anticipated. Tanner Koziol and Josh Cameron feel like intriguing Day 3 selections for their offense, too.”
