Ja’Kobi Lane could be what Anquan Boldin was for Baltimore Ravens

Ja’Kobi Lane has people talking in Baltimore, not just for his entertaining personality in interviews, but for what he has done on the field. Lane was as talented as they come heading into this year’s NFL draft, but he fell behind his peers and was taken in the third round at pick 80. His talent should have had him selected in the first round, but it was to the Ravens’ benefit that he fell.

Here is my take on whether Ja’Kobi Lane will pan out with the Baltimore Ravens:

The Ravens’ offense has Derrick Henry and Lamar Jackson as their two unstoppable forces that draw a lot of attention. Just those two alone will make the Ravens offense a wagon. Zay Flowers is an underrated weapon, but he is not the physically imposing force who completely changes the game. The Ravens needed that at receiver, someone who can win physically.

Insert Ja’Kobi Lane. Lane will come in and challenge corners and give the Ravens their first domiant outside weapon since Anquan Boldin. Boldin was extremely clutch in the playoffs for Baltimore. The hope is that Lane can be that for his entire career in Baltimore. Lane’s skillset and speed give him an upside for a much greater ceiling.

Lane will dominant on the outside, and he will be a guy that can run away from defenders. That is the perfect prototype of a weapon for Lamar Jackson to have. I think he fits perfectly in the offense. I think Lane will pan out in Baltimore and give them exactly what they are looking for. Lane will go from being underrated to just what the doctor ordered in Baltimore. Lane may not be expected to be a key contributor out of the gates, but I think there is really potential that he ends up being a threat to Lamar for years to come
