London took control early in a 10-2 win against Falfurrias in Game 1 of the Region IV-3A Division I final series at Cabaniss Baseball Field.
The Pirates scored in five different innings and finished with 10 hits to move one win away from a sixth straight trip to the UIL Class 3A state semifinals.
Aiden Salinas finished with two hits, two RBIs and a pair of triples to lead London’s offense. Christian Olivares also had two hits with a double and two RBI in the victory.
Dax Williams, who started the game, allowed two runs and struck out five in 4⅓ innings of work. Williams also added a pair of hits, drove in two runs and scored a run.
Falfurrias managed five hits behind Andre Cisneros, who had two hits and drove in both of the Jerseys’ runs.
Nathaniel Jaramillo took the loss for Falfurrias after allowing eight runs, six earned, on six hits in 4 innings.
Game 2 is scheduled for 5 p.m. Friday, May 22 at Steve Castro Field in Robstown. Game 3, if necessary, will follow Game 2.
