Manchester City Boss Jeglertz Always Believed WSL Title Was Possible

Manchester City manager Andree Jeglertz has revealed he always believed his side could win the Women’s Super League title during his first season in charge.

City were officially crowned WSL champions on Wednesday after Arsenal were held to a 1-1 draw by Brighton & Hove Albion, confirming the Manchester club as league winners.

Jeglertz, who joined Manchester City ahead of the current campaign, becomes only the second manager in Women’s Super League history to win the title in their debut season. Chelsea boss Sonia Bompastor achieved the feat in 2025.

Speaking after sealing the title, the Swedish coach said the club’s ambition and desire for success convinced him to take the job.

“I knew the ambition from the club, what they put into the women’s programme, the quality of players and also the hunger to win,” Jeglertz said.

“Definitely, I had a feeling already from the beginning that it was possible. I’m here because that was one of the many things they wanted us to aim for.

“I definitely believed in it, but it went fast. We got pretty good quite early. The more you believe in it, then everything is possible with the quality of this group.”

Manchester City have enjoyed an impressive campaign built on consistency, quality performances and strong teamwork across the season.

The newly crowned champions will now switch focus to their upcoming FA Cup semi final clash against holders Chelsea on Sunday as they continue their pursuit of more silverware.
