Eli Junior Kroupi joined an exclusive club of Premier League footballers when he scored his latest goal for Bournemouth at the weekend.
The striker found the net from the penalty spot for the Cherries on the way to a 3-0 victory over Crystal Palace at home.
It was the 19-year-old’s 12th league goal, making him just the third teenager to score that many in his debut campaign since the breakaway in 1992.
Only four teenagers have ever even reached double digits in the Premier League and none have scored more than him. With three games remaining in the season, you would not back against him breaking the record outright.
Kroupi has now matched Robbie Fowler and Robbie Keane, both of whom went on to have very successful careers as strikers in the top flight. The only other teens within touching distance were Kevin Gallen, who scored 10 goals in 1994/95, and Ryan Giggs with nine for Manchester United in the first season of the Premier League.
Given Kroupi is in such rarified air, it is little wonder then that he has been linked with moves to the biggest clubs in England and beyond. Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester United and Manchester City have all been linked with the youngster, while Barcelona have reportedly entered the race too.
