Ohio State’s seven home runs decimate Nebraska 10-1

Nebraska baseball (34-14, 17-7) wrapped up its three-game series with Ohio State (24-21, 13-11) on Sunday afternoon. The Huskers ended the weekend by suffering a sweep to the Buckeyes, dropping the final game 10-1.

Ohio State delivered seven home runs to account for its entire score, capping a dominant weekend at the plate. Nebraska once again struggled to make plays happen on offense, earning just five hits on Sunday and finishing the series with 13 in total. Ohio State tallied 11 hits in the finale and earned 22 across the weekend.

Rhett Stokes brough in the Huskers’ lone run, hitting an RBI single in the seventh. Joshua OverbeekDrew GregoJeter Worthley and Case Sanderson accounted for the remaining four hits.

Cooper Katskee (5-2) took the loss at the mound, starting the game and surrendering four hits for five runs across 3.1 innings. Ty Horn pitched the following 2.2 innings and allowed two runs on three hits. J’Shawn Unger, Jalen WorthleyRyan Harrahill and Colin Nowaczyk all tossed for less than an inning, combining for 2.0 in total.

Nebraska returns home next weekend when it plays host to rival Iowa. Game one is set for Friday night at 6 p.m. CT on Nebraska Public Media.
