Paddy Pimblett is happy with weight cut progress ahead of UFC 329 return
Paddy Pimblett says he’s in a good place physically, with just under two months to go before UFC 329.
The Liverpool native hasn’t fought since January when he dropped a unanimous decision to Justin Gaethje at UFC 324. That loss ended his four-fight win streak inside the Octagon.
Pimblett is set to return on July 11, facing Benoit Saint-Denis in Las Vegas. Saint-Denis, coming off back-to-back losses to Dustin Poirier and Renato Moicano, will be looking to bounce back against the popular lightweight.
Paddy Pimblett faces a 33lb cut ahead of UFC 329
Paddy Pimblett’s latest vlog gives fans a look at his training camp as he gets ready for his fight on Conor McGregor’s comeback card. The 31-year-old, often criticised for putting on weight between bouts, looked to be in decent shape.
“That’s the first time we’ve seen 85kg, which is nice,” he said after tipping the scale at 189lbs. “I woke up 86.4kg. What was that, 85.7kg? Not bad.”
After showing he still had 33lbs to lose before UFC 329, Pimblett had a message for those who have criticised him over his weight in the past.
“I know youse always think I’m a fat, but the weight is actually sound. You can all think what you want. You have all these stupid fight dieticians posting pictures of me. You gang of bums. You can’t even make your own fighters make weight.”
