ASU basketball head coach Randy Bennett talked about building a big front court, and his already tall roster has added the biggest of commitments, according to a report.
The Sun Devils, per Weave, have landed Filip Malesevic, a 7-foot-1 Serbian — or 7-2 or 7-3, depending on the site — who is playing professionally for FMP Beograd, for whom he has six points in the past four games while playing between eight and 11 minutes per game.
Malesevic will turn 21 in August.
ASU also had success via the transfer portal, which has closed. The Sun Devils’ class ranking was 10th overall by 247Sports and first in the Big 12 as of last week.

Two of the transfer portal newcomers played for Bennett at Saint Mary’s — 6-foot-8 power forward Paulius Murauskas (18.4 ppg, 7.6 rpg) and 6-7 small forward Dillan Shaw (7.5 ppg, 5.4 rpg). Murauskas, a native of Lithuania, was one of the top 10 players in the portal by multiple recruiting services.
Malesevic is listed at 7 feet 1 on the FIBA website.

He joins fellow big men Ajak Nyuon, a 6-foot-10 Australian who committed on May 6, Ben Defty and Nate Garcia — both 7-footers.
Nyuon, 20, played for Team Australia in the 2025 FIBA U19 World Cup, averaging 2.3 points and 1.7 rebounds per game in seven appearances.
ASU has two returning players, Bryce Ford and Vijay Wallace.
