Tottenham Hotspur have announced the signing of Shekiera Martinez from West Ham United.
The German forward has signed a ‘long-term’ contract with the club and will link up with her new side at the start of the new campaign when the transfer window officially opens.
“I’m delighted to be a Spurs player,” Martinez said about her move. “This is the perfect next step for my career and also for me to improve as a player.
“The Club has a really good squad and a good idea of how they want to play – that’s why I’m so happy to be here.
“When I spoke with Martin, I really felt confident. He wants to help me improve as a player, to bring my strengths to the team and I know he will help me score goals, too.”
West Ham initially signed Martinez in the summer of 2024 before sending her out on loan to Freiburg for half a season. The German international eventually made her debut midway through the 2024/25 campaign and quickly became an important player for the Hammers.
In total, Martinez played 41 times for West Ham in all competitions, scoring 20 goals.
