Nnadi has had to play a peripheral role for the Phocaeans since joining the club from Belgian side Zulte Waregem in a €6 million deal in the January transfer window.

Before his arrival in France, Nnadi was a regular at his former club in Belgium, and it was expected that he would get regular minutes at least. But so far, he has had to make do with dying-minutes substitute appearances.

That has led to various speculations surrounding his future, with some reports suggesting that the club trusts him and see him as a player for the future, while others say he might be sold or loaned out in the summer.

However, new reports from France suggest that the Nigerian might get his first start at Marseille this weekend.

According to Actu Ligue 1, Marseille coach Habib Beye is expected to make some changes to his team this weekend when they face OGC Nice in their gameweek 31 fixture.

This is to create some sense of hunger and competition among the senior players after their disappointing 2-0 loss to Lorient last weekend. As such, Nnadi is expected to start in the middle of the park.

During his time in Belgium, the Super Eagles star was known for his intense play, technical ability, pressing, and his solid tackling. Coach Beye will be expecting to see these qualities and even more when he gives the Nigerian an opportunity.

Nnadi will have to deliver for his side, as every point is important for them right now. Results have been inconsistent for the Phocaeans in the last two months.

Marseille are two points behind Lyon in the final UEFA Champions League qualification spot, and they will be looking to bridge the gap with four games left to play.
