Tiger Woods‘ private plane returned to Zurich Airport on Sunday ostensibly so he could resume his rehabilitation process.
According to Celebplanes.com, the Gulfstream V with tag N517TW took off Saturday night from Witham Field in Stuart, Fla., and flew for 8 hours and 48 minutes back to Switzerland.
Woods had previously received permission to leave the country and “enter into comprehensive inpatient treatment” in early April after a March 27 car crash and subsequent DUI arrest.
Ten days ago, Woods was spotted getting off his private plane at Palm Beach International Airport after staying in Switzerland for several weeks. It’s unclear why he took a short break from his treatment, but one possible reason is that he returned to be by the side of his girlfriend, Vanessa Trump, the former daughter-in-law of President Donald Trump, who announced recently that she was diagnosed with breast cancer. She shared a heartfelt message on social media, calling Woods, who she began dating last year, her “strength” as she deals with her health battle.
“Tiger has been very supportive of Vanessa through all of this and is really just focused on being there for her,” a source told the New York Post. “He’s proud of how positive she’s stayed and how she’s handling everything so far. She’s been so strong and he truly believes she’s going to be OK. He’s just trying to support her however he can right now.”
Woods reportedly had been undergoing “intense” psychological treatment at a three-month-long rehab center in Switzerland.
Woods flipped his SUV while trying to overtake a truck near his Florida home on March 27. Shortly thereafter, he announced in a statement that he would be stepping away from golf to seek treatment in the wake of the incident.
“He’s got a pain management doctor who is helping him deal with his body pain without addictive opioids,” the statement said.
