A potential New York Giants and Odell Beckham Jr. reunion has been making the rounds over the past couple of weeks as the former star receiver was thought to be in line for a return.
But so far, nothing has materialized, and we are still early in the offseason, so a move could still be made.
John Harbaugh stated via Pat Leonard that the move has to be right for both sides, and I can make the case that the Giants should say thanks, but no thanks, on an OBJ reunion.
Firstly, he hasn’t played since 2024, so what sort of player would the Giants be getting? Secondly, with Malik Nabers, Darius Slayton, Darnell Mooney, and Calvin Austin III, who would OBJ replace?
In my mind, none of them, and that’s the problem. Would Odell be an upgrade on any of those weapons?

Giants don’t need OBJ
As a pure situational receiver, you could make a case for Odell coming to the Giants, but I doubt he would be fine in that sort of role, especially if he’s fully healthy and confident in what he can bring to the table.
But Jaxson Dart has plenty of weapons at his disposal, and I haven’t even mentioned Isaiah Likely or Cam Skattebo yet. So, where exactly Odell would fit is an interesting thought exercise.
A reunion with an iconic receiver will always tug at the heartstrings, but given where the Giants are on offense, I’m not sure how valid a move would be.
Still, if he were to sign, it’s not the end of the world, and would give the Giants another player to rotate through, but don’t expect Odell to be “the” guy on offense. He’d be a bit-part player.
But if it were me, I’d go forward with the options New York already has.
