Three Pleasant tennis players make it to OHSAA Division II districts

Pleasant junior Alex Yancey finished one match from a state berth in Division II tennis.

Yancey qualified for the district singles tournament at Columbus Academy after finishing as the sectional runner-up at London.

He won his first match 6-4, 6-3 over Columbus Acaedmy senior Jackson Amato, then lost in the semifinal to eventual district champ and freshman Harrison Lessard of Bexley 6-0, 6-0.

Pleasant’s doubles team of seniors Griffin Gleespen and Luke Russell finished fourth in the sectional to qualify, but they lost their first district match 6-0, 6-0 to Bexley’s Henry Lessard and Adrian Schiff.
